"A Utah Fan am I"

If you can't tell, we are University of Utah fans. Jake and I have each been able to attend a football game with my dad. Each time, Ellie has asked if she could go. Finally came the game my dad could attend, Utah vs. Washington State. When we told Ellie we were going to a game, she was so excited. Although the game was a blow out, the girls really enjoyed being at the game.

The family that sits around us really loved the girls. We had such a good time.

I had Jake and the girls pose for this picture and apparently the TV camera guy behind us thought the picture was cute because he snapped one too and used it at the end of the game. They were on TV. Luckily fellow Utah fans from Denver were watching the game and told us.

Proud daddy, happy Sammi, and cheeser Ellie.
The family behind us took this shot.

The next week, we went to a Utah basketball game with Poppy DeVon. Again, the girls had a blast. Ellie ran every where and danced to ever song. Poppy DeVon, along with help from my Uncle Russ, was able to catch a ball thrown into the stands. Ellie loved it.

Maybe soon Ellie will be able to sing the Utah man song. Go Utes!

Utah Basketball

We went with Poppy DeVon to another basketball game.  This time in addition to sitting with my Uncle Russ, Stef came along (Russ didn't have someone to fill his other seat).  Ellie either really likes basketball or it fun to walk all around the Huntsman Center. She will sit and watch about the first 15 minutes and then play around for another 10-15 before she wants to go up top and walk around to visit Grandma Wendy and Grandma Great Bonnie.

She loves dancing to the music they play during time outs and at halftime. Sadly the Running Utes aren't pulling a huge crowd but I am ok with this as Ellie can just run free around the hallways. This game the mini donut guy was at the game. He make great little donuts. He is normally stationed right next to where my mom works so during one of Ellie's adventures to visit Grandma we walked by. Well one of the teams took a time out and the music started. Of course Ellie started dancing right in the middle of the walkway.  The donut guy thought that was so cute that he gave Ellie and I a free sample of a donut.

She also enjoys climbing all over the seats. This game we found Swoop (the mascot). Ellie loved Mickey so we went to have a picture taken with Swoop.  She walked right up to him and then Swoop bent down and she came running back to me.

She was ok with being next to him and touching him if I was right there. It was hilarious because she was making this sound that was hard to tell if she was laughing or starting to cry. She was a good sport about having her picture taken as long as she was on the outside away from Swoop. It was a fun night.

Utah vs BYU and the dance off

Luckily for Jake and I (not so much for my dad who manages a furniture outlet store so always has to work the week after Thanksgiving), we were able to use my dad's tickets to the Utah versus BYU game. He has really nice seats too. My sister Stef volunteered to watch Ellie and spent the game over at Annie's house with her and her kids.

We had a great time at the game.  We have been the past few years when the game has been at Rice-Eccles Stadium. Although it wasn't snowing, the air was chilly. The minute I got out the car, I regretted not wearing my yoga pants under my Levi's. Yes, Jake mocks me because I hate being frozen so I wore my snow boots with 2 pairs of socks, one of them being a wool pair, 2 shirts, a sweatshirt, my snow coat, ear warmers, snow gloves, and a scarf. (Annie stayed home because she hates being cold more than I do.)

It was an intense game and that's all I'm going to say about it.  The rivalry has gotten a little out of hand in my opinion in the past few years.  I enjoy a good game but once so called "fans" become belligerent and accusatory, I don't enjoy things as much.

Luckily for us, the team we cheer for won.

Jake wanted to go down to the field. So we did. First time we have ever done this.
THANKS DAD FOR THE TICKETS!!!!

After we had plans to go hang out with everyone at Brian and Annie's place.
Here is my brother Jeff helping keep Ellie entertained.
Ellie, Braden, and Kelsey playing around while the adults ate dinner and talked.
Stef does sneak-attack pictures. This was one of herself. (My family was infamous for doing this on old film cameras as well.  I had several random pictures upon developing film.)
Kelsey saw her take that picture and wanted one herself. What silly kids!

After eating dinner, we played a little Just Dance 2 and OH MY HECK, I love it. We had so much fun.  Macy got into it as well.  The boys were a little annoyed because they wanted to play Hand and Foot instead but us girls were having too much fun dancing. If I have a lapse in judgment or find a video of myself that I like, I may post it. As it stands, its not going to happen. If I post of anyone else, I'm sure they would have their revenge.

But just so you get some video of dancing, my dad took Ellie and I to a Utes basketball game. Ellie loves dancing. Here's a video of her dancing at the game. She loved watching the game and walking around seeing Grandma Wendy and Grandma Bonnie.
THANKS POPPY DEVON FOR TAKING US TO THE GAME!
